I just have the one desktop and my laptop, which is not all that hot. I don't think I have any other VGA cords. It's just a steady flash without any delays. No matter what I do, that light keeps flashing, but there's no code. I don't even know at this point if the monitor is on or off. I even asked my 8 year old if he saw anything, which he did. However, I did notice a millisecond of a flash when I hit the power button. I tried all the buttons on the monitor itself and nothing much. I checked all the connections at least 4 or 5 times by now, and checked the manual just to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious. Thanks so much for your reply!I really appreciate you taking the time to consider my problem. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.Įdited by pickwicknt, 24 November 2012 - 03:12 PM. I do not have another monitor to check with my desktop computer.īefore I go and buy another monitor, which I really don't want to do, are there any suggestions to confirm the need for a new one? Could it be something in the computer itself? A video card of something? Or is it surely the monitor? I just heard the computer beep as if it was asking me something but as I cannot see anything, I don't know what. Otherwise, everything was fine up until the minute I restarted. The only new thing to my system is the surge protector that I got last week as the other one was shot and giving me trouble when I tried to turn on the computer, which is now resolved. I unplugged the monitor from the computer and plugged the power cord into another outlet and achieved the same result, although 1 outlet gave me nothing. I restarted my computer with my Acer v193w monitor and when it came back on, the monitor was black and the power light was flashing amber.
